By MICHELLE STILLWILLIAMS Posted October 03, 2018 09:23:11 Google is launching the Galaxy S9 next week, with its new flagship offering packing more than five times the battery capacity of the S8, and featuring a new array of technologies.
The new device, which will be announced at a Google I/O event on Wednesday, will boast a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display and a 12.3-megapixel camera that will also offer more processing power.
The phone will also include a host of other new features, including wireless charging, and dual-band wireless charging.
The Galaxy S10 will be the first new flagship to be announced for the year, and it will likely feature a much more powerful processor than the S9.
Google says the S10’s chip is twice as powerful as the Galaxy Note 7, and the S6 edge+ is currently the only flagship to offer two of these.
The phone is expected to go on sale in Europe on October 25, with US availability set to begin on October 27.
Google says that its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are both on sale now in the US for $549.99 and $579.99, respectively.
