With the release of its Zoom, Google acquired the technology company that created the camera-based smartphone cameras.
Zoom Technologies CEO Joe Stork, who previously held the title of CEO of Zoom Digital and who had previously been head of photography at Apple, said the move to Zoom was “part of a larger strategy of diversification.”
Stork said he was leaving his position at Zoom in order to “focus on more strategic opportunities and focus on growing our business, as well as building our core team and building a more sustainable business.”
He said he plans to focus on creating and selling a “frictionless” way for people to upload photos to Zomboids that allow them to take them to a virtual camera in real time.
He said Zomboid users will be able to “view and share their photos without having to leave the app,” adding that the app will be available for download and can be used for “anywhere that a phone can be.”
Stark also said Zoom’s smartphone camera app will launch later this year.
